How do I sign up for an API Key?

To sign up for an API Key, you must register for an account. Once registered, you will be sent a confirmation e-mail. After your e-mail is verified, you will have access to two API keys which you can use to start building your app.

How many API Keys am I allowed?

Is there any cost involved in using the API(s)?

If your app is considered "commercial" - supported by advertising, or makes money selling a product - you will be required to pay Merriam-Webster a licensing fee to use our API with your application.
